As far as I know no more original gamba bows exist from around 1700. But as I already mentioned in about historical bows, we are very grateful to the excellent painters from that era. I studied many paintings carefully and reconstructed this type of bow, with clip-in-frog and black hair. The nut only functions as a counter-weight for the purpose of balance. I hope this bow comes as near as possible to the characteristics of the original ones. Unfortunately we will never know, but it anyway functions very well... On special request this bow can also be made with screw mechanism and white hair. This one weighs 76g, and it’s length is 78cm.
